But the Fighter Still Remains

18 July, 2012. It goes without saying this seemed improbable if not impossible. But here it is. Nevermind Kimi mowing the lawn in the background. What I love most about this photo is the contrast of light and shadow. It was in fact Honor's emergence from darkness and into blinding light. The nuance of the photo speaks volumes, especially his bell boots. The first thing I noticed about Honor's injury were his blood-painted hooves. And now, his bright red bell boots are possibly the first noticable thing about the photo. There is no brooding mist, dead, darkened blood, or choked-out sun. It's pristine sunshine, bright vibrant reds, and smiles. But none of this came easy or without excruciating pain. For the opportunity to step into the light, Honor had to ignite the fight of his nature and let it rage.
